1. Avoid drinking water just before or after meals
Many of us are habitual to drink water after taking meals but this is totally wrong.
- Reason– when we eat food our stomach produce heat to digest the food easily and properly.
But when we drink water the temperature inside the stomach decreses which lead to disturbance in the digestive system and sometimes we feel improper digestion which causes many problems from increasing weight to bad breath.
- Solution– There is a very simple solution to this problem that is rinse your mouth after eating food which leads to make an illusion in our mind that some amount of water is drunk by the body.
- Never ever drink water before 30 minutes of your meal and 1 hour after taking the meal.
2. Drink water sip by sip
Avoid all the water chugging at once. Many of us do this when we are thirsty.
- Reason– Our mouth saliva has PH around 6.5-7.5 (basic) whereas the gastric juices in our stomach has PH around 1.5-3.5 (acidic) when we chug the water at once the saliva also went into the stomach which will neutralise the acidic behaviour of our stomach which leads to very serious problems like Hernia, Appendicitis and even Prostate cancer also.

3. Drinking water first thing in the morning
This is the best habit to be healthy all the day which is also known as Ushapan in Ayurveda.
- Reason– Drinking water in the morning make your large intestine clear and removes out all the toxins from the body. According to research, the morning saliva is the best for our body which automatically is the solution to so many problems. Make sure you drink water before brush.
4. Avoid chilled water, drink room temperature water
Avoid ice chilled water which is very harmful to our body.
- Reason– Ice chilled water leads to lower the temperature in the stomach which leads to bad digestion and sometimes leads to constipation due to the decrease in blood supply in a various organ of the body.
Ice chilled water solidify the fat which leads to an increase in weight.
- Solution– Warm water Is the best solution. In summer drink water stored in silver and copper vessel or if it is too hot outside you can mix cold and hot water while maintaining the temperature.
5. Don’t drink water while standing
- Reason– when we drink water while standing, water directly hit the food pipe due to which the gastric juices in stomach start coming up which is known as gastroesophageal reflux disease which leads to chest pain and many other stomach problems.
- Solution– avoid drinking while standing try to sit and then drink which will make your nervous system and muscles more relaxed and make your fluids to digestion easily.
6. Drink water at least 3 litre
